The people's Bank of China and other five ministries and commissions have made it clear in the notice on preventing bitcoin risks issued in December 2013 that bitcoin should be a specific virtual commodity, which does not have the same legal status as currency and cannot and should not be used as currency in the market. The notice has previously required that financial institutions and Payment institutions shall not provide customers with bitcoin registration, trading, clearing, settlement and other services. Therefore, blind "speculation" has risks, and investment needs to be vigilant to follow suit.
