NFT minted on the Solana blockchain network can now be traded on the NFT marketplace OpenSea, following an official announcement of support coming last week.
Solana's arrival at OpenSea, which is largely based on Ethereum and currently dominates NFT transactions, was long anticipated.
Solana NFT was up and running on OpenSea before the official announcement earlier today, but then went missing for hours. Coinciding with Solana's network issues, many on social media speculated that OpenSea was delayed due to network issues. However, OpenSea has not made any official announcement.
As the leading NFT marketplace, OpenSea now regularly processes billions of dollars worth of transactions each month. Magic Eden is currently the largest NFT marketplace on Solana, generating hundreds of millions of transactions per month.
